IP & Technology - Business

Our IP & Technology Business team offers a UK-wide service and has extensive experience in advising clients on IP & Technology commercialisation, due diligence, sales and acquisitions and how best to protect their products and services.

We prepare and negotiate all forms of commercial, IP & Technology contract, such as non-disclosure, evaluation, collaboration, outsourcing, licensing, manufacturing, supply, agency, distribution and franchising agreements, and terms and conditions of business.

We perform "pure" IP work, such as advising on the law of trade marks, patents, registered designs, design rights, copyright, database rights and rights in software, trade secrets and confidential information, and their protection, exploitation, acquisition and disposal. We also advise our clients on digital and interactive media, internet and e-commerce, data protection and freedom of information compliance.

IP & Technology - Dispute Resolution

Our IP & Technology Dispute Resolution team deals with all types and sizes of IP & Technology related disputes in Scotland, where we have unrivalled experience.

We are the only dedicated full time IP & Technology contentious team in Scotland. We also believe in and have a successful track record in alternative methods of dispute resolution.

We regularly advise on patent infringement and validity proceedings, trade mark infringement and passing off claims (with expertise in parallel imports, anti-privacy and counterfeiting campaigns), domain name disputes, copyright, design rights and database rights, IT disputes related to software development and outsourcing contracts, technology ownership disputes and IP and IT warranty/indemnity claims.
